Transport Manager - Coatbridge

This company is one of the market leaders in linen rental services to hotels and business throughout Scotland and the North of England. Established more than 100 years ago, the successful company employs over 800 staff. The company currently operates from six operating centres in Scotland and one in the North East of England.

They are currently recruiting for an experienced transport management professional for their growing operation to develop, manage and maintain an efficient, economic and financially viable commercial vehicle service at their plant in Coatbridge.

The successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of a range of transport function operations in a fast moving distribution environment to ensure that the transport teams meet statutory and operational licence obligations. The Transport Manager will over see the day to day operations as well as the distribution and collection of goods associated with the Coatbridge plant, to meet operational, legal and customer requirements. The Transport Manager will be responsible for the Transport Supervisor, Team Leaders and drivers.

A highly competent manager, you must possess excellent communication skills to enable interaction with staff and key stakeholders and be proficient in IT skills. You must hold a Management Freight Certificate of Professional Competence as you will be the named manager on the Company Operator Licence. It is desirable that you hold your own HGV Class 2 Licence along with CPC.
