An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a passionate and motivated Maintenance Operative to join us in Plymouth.
Within this role, you will inspect, diagnose and undertake minor day to day repairs and will accompany appropriate contractors servicing of all site M & E equipment. You will be responsible for overseeing legionella, fire safety and all related Health and Safety compliance and to ensure that refuse and recycling facilities are maintained appropriately.
Whilst inspecting and recording faults and repairs to the building, grounds and equipment, you will ensure all Health and Safety compliancy tasks are complete, recorded and logged as per risk assessments. You will also be expected to undertake regular inspections and testing of equipment including emergency lighting, PAT Testing and Fire Alarms.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have substantial experience of working within a building and maintenance related field and will possess relevant trade qualifications (e.g. NVQ or apprenticeship).
With an understanding of UK health and safety legislation and regulations, you should also have experience of managing external contractors on site and will have an understanding of technical building drawings.
The ability to carry out manual handling tasks and capability to lift and move heavy items is also important and you should be able to work night shifts / shift work. Familiarity of IT systems (especially email and Microsoft Word) will be required.
