We are currently recruiting a Credit Underwriter on a 4-6 month fixed term contract based in our Hove office.This role sits within our non recourse operations function ensuring a prompt, reliable debtor credit underwriting/support service to all existing clients and internal departments.
The main focus of this role is to minimise potential bad debts by way of prudent and commercial underwriting and adhering to all internal processes and procedures. Assess debtors/customers credit worthiness and set credit limits within own given authority ensuring full Euler Hermes compliance at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
To support and work closely with all members of the Credit Department
Focus on high levels of service ensuring client satisfaction and retention
To support Team Leader (Operations) on a day to day basis
Month end reporting/analysis as required for onward submission to Team Leader (Operations) Credit/Senior Credit Manager/Chief Operating Officer
Ensure 24 hour turnaround on all credit limit applications
To help manage the department's inflow of all operational tasks and duties
Prepare and sanction bad debt write offs within own given authority
Ongoing liaison with various internal departments, brokers, trade insurers and existing clients as and when necessary
Ongoing support and taking responsibility for certain aspects of various operational projects to enhance client service
Ongoing liaison with various internal departments, brokers, trade insurers and existing clients as and when necessary
To assess credit limits within own given authority
To accurately input debtor credit limits within own given authority
Ensure full compliance with Euler Hermes trade insurance policy and all internal policies
To amend, clarify and determine correct legal entity being dealt with
To minimise potential bad debts and ensure all credit limits underwritten are justifiable within the terms of our Euler Hermes Trade insurance policy
Maintain control of credit limit expiry report and ensure no limit is out of date
Minimise CBIF risk/exposure in the event of adverse situations and ensure these are reported accordingly
To record justification criteria and supporting documentation for credit limits sanctioned
To prepare/recommend large exposure applications for submission to Team Leader/Senior Credit Manager/Chief Operating Officer.
Maintain bad debt levels within budgets/provisions.
