Route Services was created in January 2016 by bringing together Group Business Services, who provide IT and business shared services, National Supply Chain, who provide logistics and procurement services and Network Rail Consulting, who provide international rail consultancy, with other services set to join throughout 2016.

Supply Chain Operations is a corporate service within Network Rail and is responsible for all category management, procurement and national logistics. We procure safe and sustainable products and services that are used to maintain, renew and enhance the rail infrastructure. Our aim is to deliver outstanding value and exceptional service to our customers, helping the rail industry work together to deliver a more cost effective railway.

Brief Description

• Working within Network Rails Aggregate Handling Depot, the candidate will be responsible for some or all of the following:
• Loading /unloading of aggregates and spoil from rail wagons using a Komatsu PC360 fitted with clamshell.
• Loading of recycled aggregate products into road vehicles using Caterpillar 972 Wheeled Loading Shovel
• Operating the weighbridge and producing tickets for customers
• Filling out daily stock reports

About the role (External)

• Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions. Report any Close Calls as identified.
• Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent, advising the Site Manager should you feel more training is required.
• Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
• Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly, reporting any issues to the Site Manager.
• Contribute to your own development.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Represent the team at all appropriate business meetings, workshops and briefings as required by the Site Manager.
Essential:
• Valid certificate in operation of 360 excavator/material re-handler
• Valid certificate in operation of wheeled loading shovel

Salary GBP27,500
