Job Description LOCATION: Sheffield
JOB TITLE: Forger / Spring Hammer Operator
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP10 - GBP12 per hour + company pension
WORKING HOURS: Monday - Thursday, 7 - 5.10pm
THE COMPANY: Our client combines traditional hand crafting and forging skills with modern heat treatment and finishing techniques to give the quality of design, finish and edge retaining properties demanded by woodturners of today. Based in Sheffield, they have been in operation since 1834 and they have an exciting opportunity available for a Forger / Spring Hammer Operator to join their team on a full time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities/duties of a Forger / Spring Hammer Operator to include:-
• Cut steel using a saw
• Set up the Spring Hammer machine
• Forge the steel to the required size
• Manipulate the steel as required
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate for the Forger / Spring Hammer Operator position must be self-motivated and capable of working alone and part of a team. You must be a good communicator and reliable. You will need to live within a commutable distance to Sheffield.
Key experience essential for the role of Forger / Spring Hammer Operator -
• 1 years experience using a Spring Hammer machine
• Flexible in assisting other departments when required
