Our client manufactures an exciting range of systems for the construction, automotive, acoustic and audio markets, exporting to numerous countries around the world. They are a leading manufacturer of engineered facade and roofing systems to the architectural sector, complemented by a comprehensive range of fasteners, load bearing components and accessories. They have full in-house testing facilities, as well as 3D design and engineering analysis and also produce a broad range of acoustic mesh and perforated components for the automotive, architectural and audio markets, specialising in visual imaging on facades as well as aesthetic diffusion and absorption solutions.
THE ROLE: Maintenance Engineer- Smethwick, West Midlands
Our client is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer to maintain mechanical machinery (Power presses) and equipment throughout the site in Smethwick. You will fault find, diagnose and rectify issues to ensure that smooth and continuous manufacturing can be sustained, as well as undertaking preventative and improvement maintenance tasks to improve efficiency.
Key responsibilities for Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) - in Smethwick to include:
Maintain plant equipment to high standards
Preventative maintenance and periodic testing
Report and record on breakdowns and issues
Ensure permits to work process is followed and safe working practices are adhered to
Liaise with production to ensure improvement achieved in terms machine OEE and that shop operatives involved and undertake roles within the preventative maintenance programme, feeding back to management
THE CANDIDATE: Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) - Smethwick, West Midlands
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Maintenance Engineer/Mechanical Fitter with recognised mechanical qualifications and /or apprenticeship. Excellent mechanical and fault finding skills are essential and a strong understanding of safe systems of work and the ability to work safely under own supervision.
CRITERIAS: Maintenance Engineer- Smethwick, West Midlands
Experience within a maintenance engineer or fitter role from a Mechanical background essential
Experience with power presses advantageous
Qualifications/ apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering
Experience of hydraulic & pneumatic systems with the ability to fault find and diagnose problems
Good attention to detail
Strong understanding of safe systems of work and the ability to work safely under own supervision
