Blueprint Recruitment Solutions are currently looking for a Highway CAD Technician to work for a leading highways service provider in their Chelmsford office. You will be responsible for supporting Engineers and Senior Engineers in the delivery of highway engineering projects including engineering drawings, design, reports, calculations, site surveys and any other activities assigned from time to time. This will be an initial 3 month contract offering 40 hours of work per week.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of designs in accordance with DMRB, Manual for Streets and Essex Highways policies and procedures
- Development of designs on AutoCAD, KEYsigns, Microdrainage
- Management of scheme work packages including Pre construction information
- Client Liaison as necessary to ensure successful delivery of schemes/projects
- Production of technical reports as required
- Ability to manage work to programme and be accountable for delivery of design service work in line with fee estimates
- Ensure they and others work in line with the company's health and safety process and policy.
Competencies:
- Academic qualifications in an engineering related discipline and suitable experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Full, clean driver's license.
- Flexibility to travel to meet our widely distributed clients and to work with internal and external teams in other offices and sites.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Confidence to seek clarification of instructions and work scope.
- Adept in the use of AutoCAD as a design tool and aptitude to develop in MX/Civils3D/Windes.
- Proficient in use of standard office software
