Our client is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

They are currently recruiting to the following position:
Student Welfare Mentor
Full Time Term Time Only (40 weeks per year)
£18,116 - £20,447 p.a. (actual salary)
They are looking for an experienced mentor to work within the college safeguarding team, with knowledge of the needs of young adults.
You will be given a caseload of students to work with from the student priority groups and in addition work with safeguarding referrals in collaboration with the Student Welfare Officer and other members of the safeguarding team.
You should have good organisational skills and be able to work as part of a team to improve the wellbeing and performance of students by mentoring vulnerable students at risk.
Safeguarding of students and referral to external agencies will be key as is the ability to engage positively with students. You will be able to proactively resolve issues and reassure young adults.
