APPOINTMENT OF AN INDEPENDENT MEMBER TO A NHS WALES HEALTH BOARD

In order to meet the challenge of making a contribution to local health service provision in line with the strategic direction of NHS Wales in the Bridgend, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot areas, we are looking for a dynamic individual to undertake the role of Independent Member (Information Communication and Technology) to the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board.

Experience of using digital technologies would be a key advantage. You would also have an understanding of how information management and the use of data can help to improve health and social care in terms of the delivery of a safe and high quality service. You will play a full and active role in the corporate and clinical governance of the health board, work closely with other public, private and voluntary organisations and contribute to the “governance and finance” of the Health Board ensuring its openness and honesty by contributing fully to the board’s decision making processes.

Independent Member

  • Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Board – Serving Bridgend, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot - (1 post) – Independent Member (Information Communication and Technology).

The appointment will be made on merit although consideration will be given to the need to establish a balanced skills mix.

The Independent Member will be appointed for up to a four (4) year period. The post of Independent Members are based on a notional time commitment of a minimum of four (4) days per month subject to organisational demands, but is often higher then the minimum requirement.
