Brief Description
As an Electrification & Plant Engineer, you will provide specialist technical support on E&P related engineering issues both within the engineering team and to the associated delivery teams. The role has a bias toward an electrical engineering workload inclusive of the LV distribution and PLC's.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities
1. Provide specialist technical guidance in support of the Electrification & Plant team and the associated delivery units.
2. Engage in site based (line side) works to achieve departmental goals and assist the delivery teams where required.
3. Review and develop the departmental technical standards.
4. Review, as directed, the overall performance, safety and compatibility of the Electrification & Plant asset.
5. Manage modifications to assets and procedures as directed by the Head of Electrification & Plant Engineering.
6. Engage in the root cause analysis of Electrification & Plant asset failures to drive overall reliability.
7. Seek to aid other disciplines with cross disciplinary issues so that business impacts are minimised.
8. Participate in engineering verification activities and safety initiatives in support of the business goals.
9. Provide training, once competent, to other staff within the business.
10. Engage in asset stewardship activities including the provision of asset data.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
• Practical experience applicable to one or more of the Electrification & Plant engineering disciplines (M&E equipment, LV distribution, HV distribution or mobile plant).
• Qualifications in subjects related to Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards.
• Engineering experience involving site works, fault finding, technical documentation and business risk assessment.
Desirable
• Degree in a related engineering subject.
• Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer.
• Knowledge of a mixture of the following shall be considered advantageous:
o LV wiring, distribution and site work inclusive of 17 th Edition.
o LV motors and associated applications (pumping, ventilation etc ).
o UPS, generator and backup supply arrangements.
o PLC's and control systems.
• Portfolio of experience comprising specification, operation and maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.
• Fault finding and root cause analysis experience.
• It should be noted by candidates that, on occasion, night works will be required and a driving license is essential to the role.
