The Sky Digital Content team is responsible for the development and management of our digital products across Sky Sports and Sky News. These include some of the UK's most popular services: Skynews.com, Sky News App, Skysports.com, Sky Sports App, and our increasingly distributed products on social channels. We are looking for an exceptional, results-driven and delivery focused Product Owner to join our world class team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Product specialist who wants to play a leading role in shaping the future of our flag-ship products across the digital content estate. You may also be tasked with direct line management within this role. In this role you will be working across both the sports and news genre.
As the right candidate for this position you will have strong, business and analytical skills as well as a flair for the creative. You will thrive in dynamic workplace and be comfortable meeting tight deadlines with high profile product launches. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business whilst always focusing on getting the job done. You will be as comfortable taking on a leadership role with technical delivery teams as you are discussing the day's Sports and News agenda with production staff. You will be as strong immersing yourself in the detail of the day-to-day delivery of your development team as you at seeing the wider strategic opportunities in an ever-changing tech landscape. And you will effectively balance and prioritise business requirements - whilst always putting the customer first.

Role responsibilities:
Use a range of user insight sources to understand the needs and behaviours of Sky Sports Sky News users Engage with a variety of stakeholders to understand business needs and gather requirements acrossDevelop the vision, strategy and roadmap for the digital productsWork with UX, Design and Optimisation teams to concept, evaluate and define new - or iterate existing - product featuresWrite user stories and acceptance criteriaWork with Scrum teams to develop and launch new products and enhance existing onesDeliver a roadmap - often date critical - of feature updates and product releasesProvide digital product knowledge and insight for colleagues across our businessSupport the execution of the wider Product strategy
Essential Skills/Experience required:
Commercial experience in a digital product role, preferably within a media environmentBA/BSc degree or equivalent practical experienceA track record of managing multiple stakeholders and strong examples of clear and concise communicationThe ability to deliver cross-functional projects and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies (specifically Scrum)End to end product management experience - particularly in relation to Apps and including the submission and approvals process for app releasesProven examples of requirements management and product prioritisationComfortable using data and analytics to inform product decisionExperience working with remote teams and stakeholders
Desirable:
Knowledge and experience of the news or media industries preferable Working knowledge and experience of product analytics and MVT softwareWorking knowledge of backlog and roadmap management tools such as JIRA and Aha!
Some travel will be required between the Sky offices in London (Osterley) and the Technology centre in Leeds. This role can be based in Leeds or Osterley.
