Full Time General Manager

Salary: £40,000 p/a

Helicon is the property management company from PegasusLife, a business on a mission to change the way retirement property is delivered and understood. We're currently recruiting for a General Manager to lead the staff team and deliver an exceptional, quality-driven service to the residents at our new development, Wildernesse House.

Wildernesse House is a collection of 19 apartments for people over sixty, set within a spectacular country house in Sevenoaks, in the heart of the rolling Kent countryside. The development encompasses a Spa and restaurant, as well as vast grounds, all of which require their own team of staff who you will ultimately be in charge of. As General Manager, you will know about everything that's going in Wildernesse House at any given moment, and act as the crucial cog in the machine that makes it all run smoothly.

About You:

  • A strong background in a hospitality or leisure, ideally in a customer service management role, with a minimum of five years experience.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate a team as opposed to simply directing operations.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • An intuitive understanding of what makes good customer service outstanding, a keen eye for the little details and a personable, inquisitive nature.

The Role:

  • Managing the development buildings, communal areas and grounds in an efficient, personable manner.
  • Helping residents to get the most out of everything on offer at Wildernesse House: you will play a lead role in organizing clubs and trips, facilitating extra care or help for those who need it, and responding to any queries from residents about anything to do with their apartments or the development.
  • But you will pay equal attention to the smaller details - laying the morning papers out before residents come down for breakfast (and knowing everyone's favourites), ordering supplies for the kitchen from the local bakery, calling taxis for residents who are heading out in the evenings, updating the noticeboard with details of what's happening during the week.
  • Being responsible for overseeing deliveries, booking couriers and keeping on top of supplies for all areas of the development.
