Intervention Specialist required for long term role within a primary school in Croxteth

Intervention Specialist - Learning Support Assistant Croxteth Your New School

This small primary school provides education for around 200 children aged between 3- 11 years old. A well-established primary school in the Croxteth area is looking for a qualified level 3 teaching assistant to work in and outside the classroom providing support to a specific pupil with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis.
Your New Role

The school are currently looking for someone to work as a Teaching Assistant within the school to focus on interventions and catch up sessions. Interventions frequently used within the school include Read Write Inc and Rainbow reading. The position is to support a specific child on a one-to-one basis working inside and outside the classroom to support and promote the pupil's learning and inclusion. This will require liaising with other staff members and external agencies to ensure that barriers to learning are removed. You will be required to liaise with parents and other teachers and so high levels of communication skills are necessary in order to be successful.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be experienced using literacy and numeracy interventions. Experience using the intervention Read Write Inc would be an advantage. You will need to be a proactive and committed individual who is willing to 'go the extra mile' to improve pupils learning and development. E experience supporting pupils with SEN on a one-to-one basis. You must also be aware of the key competencies that are expected to go along with working with children with SEN, as well as good knowledge of the national primary curriculum. Excellent communication skills are needed as you will be required to liaise with external agencies and parents. You should also have an excellent understanding of supporting children with complex behaviour and be sensitive to the ways in which they need help and guidance to achieve their targets.
