SEN Teaching Assistant - ASD Autism Support - Job Specification

If you are a bright, confident and patient Psychology Graduate with your sights set on training for a career as an Educational Psychology, Child Psychology or Speech and Language Therapy then this could be the perfect role for you to take on. The designated SENCO is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant who has their sights sets on a career focused on SEN and psychology. You must be a consistent TA who is able to commit to at least one academic year in order to be considered for this role.

About the SEN Teaching Assistant role

You will be required to support SEN pupils on a 1:1 basis; helping them to access the curriculum. You will be working alongside pupils at the school with Autism so having a good working knowledge of PECS and Makaton is beneficial. You will need to be confident handling challenging situations with a patient approach. Your duties will include flourishing under the mentorship of a designated SENCO who will be taking an active role in your development at every stage.
