As Sky grows, we're seeking a talented Developer to enable the rapid delivery of high quality, customer focused services to meet and exceed customer experience and usability requirements within our Online Service tribe. Within this position, we offer the opportunity to cross-train in Javascript on the job with all the support required. You will be an experienced Developer with strong knowledge in another language such as Java, Ruby, PHP or .Net.
The role is to work on our GraphQL implementation SkyPort. SkyPort is implemented with the open source GraphQL query language . It is developed in Javascript running on Node.js. SkyPort connects multiple back end data sources to provide a single domain model to our web applications and mobile applications. Sky Port is a key part of our architecture delivered as part of Sky Mobile and being extended to our entire Online Service estate.

Your key responsibilities:
• Developing high quality, testable and high performance software using agile practices
• Participating in regular showcases of new work to the product owners and business stakeholder
• Working in an agile and team driven approach.
Your skills:
• You are able to write great code from scratch using SOLID principles and are also competent in frameworks such as React, Express and Node (highly desirable).
• Experience working with complex restful XML and JSON api
• Understanding of highly resilient and performant services
• Exposure or appreciation of agile development practices with a wiliness to be a proactive participant in the agile process
• You are a team player and recognise the benefits of pair programming for complex features and problem solving.
• Being an advocate and internal expert of SkyPort for other teams using the API
• You are an advocate of TDD, BDD and Agile principles.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
