IDS are an established industry leader providing single sourced solutions within the field of MEICAT Engineering. Our areas of expertise include hazardous areas, PLC/SCADA, telemetry integration, electrical engineering design, installation, project management and preventive maintenance.
Due to our continued expansion, we are seeking to recruit a Mechanical Desgin Engineer to join our rapidly growing teams in our Grangemouth & Edinburgh offices.
We are ideally looking for people from a chemical or process industry. Candidates with experience of skid design and manufacturing would also be desirable.
Job Description:
As a competent Mechanical Design Engineer the duties include 2D and 3D drawing make up from blank using proprietary CAD packages. This includes 2D and 3D drafting. Drawing make up and revision. Production of BOM, asset scripts and completion of registers and QA documentation.
Knowledge of engineering concepts and ability to communicate with 3rd party suppliers and sub-contractors is essential to allow production of designs.
Auditing of equipment to drawing design and checking of designs to drawings. Assistance in the production of O&M and final documentation. Sound knowledge of Word, Excel Power Point, MS Project are essential.

* Documentation Production
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
* 2D CAD Drafting
* 3D CAD Drafting
* HNC Education Level in a technical discipline
* Driving License as this is a multi-base role
* Good timekeeping and attendance record
