In line with the Company's strategic imperatives to expand our expertise and business in Europe, we require a European Business Development Manager to manage our existing Distributors business to maximise their potential. The close management of these Distributors is key to the Company achieving its financial goals. In field support is required to support sales of our portfolio of Vascular Access products.

The European Business Development Manager - Medical Devices is a senior and high profile position, visible by the Leadership Team

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Full accountability and delivery of regional budget.
  • Preparation and execution of the sales plan including monthly, quarterly and annual sales and profit forecasts consistent with the Business Unit expectation.
  • Manage the company's existing Distributors in the region for the Business Unit; reviewing their ability and appetite for delivering the regional strategy.
  • Provide Distributors with the requisite support to deliver the regional strategy by assisting them to develop country-specific business plans.
  • Assist Distributors in delivery of the wider business plan by providing training, end-user accompanied visits and continuous education.
  • Supervise the completion of Tenders in conjunction with the distributor and the wider team.
  • Establish and foster professional relationships with clinicians and other customer groups. Create and maintain a database profiling these customers.
  • Build up European KOL network and support market development.
  • Provide end-user support and training both independently of the distributor by conducting educational events at end-user sites.
  • Research and report all relevant market information and trends to the business unit.
  • Liaise with UK Head Office to assist in the creation and delivery of the regional marketing & communications plan.
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with cross-functional support departments.
  • Work with the Business Unit to identify, forecast and manage new dealers where appropriate.

Travel

  • 70% European travel involving overnight stays.
  • Frequent use of vehicle and small amount of lifting and carrying materials and supplies

Qualifications and Experience

  • Consistent and demonstrable success in selling healthcare products ideally within Vascular Access or a similar product area. Minimum of 5 years.
  • An entrepreneurial self-starter with the confidence and ability to identify untapped opportunities and proactively present proposals to Director level.
  • Excellent written, verbal and numerical communication skills are essential.
  • Understanding differing healthcare economies and their impact on business.
  • IT literate with high level analytical skills
  • Experienced in working through and with distributors in Europe. Ideally 2+ years.
  • One working European language in addition to English would be advantageous.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • UK/EC Passport
