Axcis are currently working in partnership with a care provider who supports adults with complex ASD. They provide care in a range of settings, including communal residential homes and independent living settings.

The adults they support have complex ASD, some are non-verbal and have additional medical needs, on occasion personal care my also be required.

A range of shifts are available on an ad-hoc basis, including during the day, evenings and weekends. Furthermore, sleep in and waking night shifts are also available.

Successful candidates will hold the following attributes:

  • Flexible- in order to work around the settings requests and needs.
  • Professional- the service users you will be caring for are very complex, therefore you should always maintain the upmost professionalism.
  • Knowledgeable- you must have knowledge and understanding of the features of ASD and how to deal with different situations.
  • Experienced- at least one year’s experience of working in a setting supporting students, young people or adults with autism, or have appropriate transferrable skills.
  • Confident- able to take your own initiative in a new setting and when working with new service users.

Additional training in safeguarding, medication and food hygiene would also be advantageous.
