Planet Contracting Limited are looking to recruit a Contracts Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor to work within our Planet South Division, based at our Head Office in Burgess Hill. In return, we offer a highly competitive salary of £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependant on experience) plus excellent benefits.

Planet Contracting Limited is an industry leader in designing, manufacturing and installing creative interior demountable glass partitions, glazed doors, modular walls and architectural glazing solutions such as atriums, frameless curved glazing and freestanding glass.

As a Contracts Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for working closely with Contracts Managers in order to manage and control all commercial and financial aspects of contracts, ensuring effective cost control, and complete compliance with all contractual clauses.

Contracts Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor Duties and Responsibilities:

- Ensure effective cost control of contracts against budgets

- Maintain and develop commercial processes and procedures and maximise returns in terms of profit

- Ensure that all contract order documentation is thoroughly checked and any potential problematic contractual clauses are highlighted

- Provide Contract advice to Contracts Managers and liaise with Contracts Managers on contract progress

- Manage and reduce unnecessary costs and inefficient activities

- Prepare and agree Interim Valuations, re-measurements and variation accounts

- Control Sub-Contract purchasing and analyse bids

- Prepare and issue Certification for Contracts

- Negotiate and progress resolution of disputes

- Identify potential risks and opportunities and evaluate options

- Produce budgetary and outcome forecasts

- Monitor Contract compliance with legal and statutory requirements

- Exercise own judgement and initiative when dealing with projects

- Work with limited supervision and ensure deadlines are met

Experience & Qualifications:

- Experience of working within the Construction Industry

- Sound knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of Contract

- GCSE English

- GCSE Maths

- Basic IT skills

- CSCS Card

- Interior Systems NVQ Level 2
