Operator

On Line People Limited are currently looking for an Operator to work for one of our major clients based in Colchester (with site visits as required). This is a permanent/staff position.
Salary
GBP22,500 to GBP25,000 p/a, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, matched pension scheme, life assurance and Medicash. Plus call out/on call fees.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to support the day to day smooth and efficient running of the Gas to Grid Anaerobic digestion plant, completing a 5 day working week including working every other weekend. During that weekend working you will be required to be on call.

• Work on in line with legislation, planning permissions, permits H&S and manuals and documents;
• Occasional point of contact for site queries when on call;
• Fill out site documents when necessary:
o completing daily checks and log book, visitors sign ins;
o reporting all exceptional circumstances; including breakdowns, damages, performance and incidents when on shift;
• Maintain site security and access, including visitor inductions;
• Monitor plant control system (SCADA);
• Monitor feedstock quality and digestate volumes;
• Be available for training
• Basic maintenance of equipment and plant, reporting breakdowns to maintenance team;
• Basic feedstock sampling and testing;
• Report spares usage and consumables;
• Fill the hopper in line with feed ration;
• Operate and maintain weighbridge on site;
• Other duties as required.

Skills
• Possess IT skills (Microsoft Office etc.)
• Have a good understanding of all health and safety regulations
• Be organised and an excellent communicator
• Experience of operating either agricultural or plant machinery
• Hold a valid mobile plant licence - specifically telehandler.
• Experience working in agriculture would be beneficial
