This role falls under the Market Operations Risk, Control & Regulatory Management (RCRM), which as a department supports Market and Service Operations by providing central and independent support and coordination of the Operational Risk Management Framework.

The role sits within the first line of defence and supports Derivatives and FX Operations:

Derivative Post Trade Services is a cross-asset class function responsible for ensuring that all Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity and Foreign Exchange Derivatives are controlled, confirmed and settled in an efficient and cost effective manner. The department supports a broad range of operational services across the OTC trade lifecycle including trade lifecycle management, affirmation, confirmation, nostro and brokerage reconciliation as well as strategic product support.

Role Purpose

Oversight of the embedding of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework within DFX. Support and oversee the risk assessment and monitoring program including control self assessments, KRI oversight, risk reporting, lessons learned. Representation at key business aligned governance meetings representing R&C status and control agenda. Perform regional deep-dives/testing of control themes and drive remediation. Identify and monitor regional/global Operations Risk & Regulatory control themes. Monitoring compliance with Barclays' policies and standards. Supporting internal and external audits. Driving risk culture awareness Acting as cover for the Head of EMEA IB OPS Risk & Control.

Key Accountabilities

Develop and maintain a comprehensive and robust operations risk and control framework. Support and oversee the risk assessment and monitoring program including KRI completeness, risk reporting, control self assessments. Ensuring effective Risk & Control Management reporting and information is produced for Senior Management. Identify, understand and monitor regional/global Operations Risk & Regulatory control themes. Drive compliance with regulatory requirements. Review risk event/incidents ensuring that root cause analysis is undertaken in order for control weakness to be identified and remediated. Perform regional deep-dives/testing of control themes and drive remediation. Support and lead the implementation of global control initiatives and programs - e.g. procedure completeness, reconciliation completeness. Undertake and participate in strategic and ad-hoc risk projects and control initiatives. Assess adherence to global Group Risk Policies & Standards. Assist to support internal and external audits. Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with Operations management teams Develop and deliver risk training to line teams to create control awareness..

Stakeholder management and leadership: key stakeholders at Director/VP level.

Person Specification

2-4 years of experience in risk management. Investment Banking experience with knowledge of a complex Operations environments, specifically Front to Back Operational Processes, Risk and Control Functions, and Regulatory Reporting. Good working knowledge of operational risk frameworks, control processes and practices, including experience in their design, application and testing.
