At Barclays we are building our Risk and Control department to support all Audit, risk and control, compliance and regulatory requirements.
While at Barclays you will be responsible for understanding the current software environment and advising the technology functions with complete transparency of the risks and issues that affect each area.
Your Role
Ensuring that activities delivered under own control are in accordance with appropriate governance, compliance and operational principles/frameworks of risk. Proactively make recommendations re improvement to processes and procedures relating to governance and compliance, and to support implementation of those subsequently approved. To provide advice, guidance and support to project managers re Operational Risk Impacts relating to projects.
Essential Skills
Broad understanding of other risk related policies, such as the Data Protection Act, Disability Discrimination Act, etc. Strong understanding of risk, control and change management. Conversant with service management and delivery best practices (e.g. ITIL) and familiar with risk and control frameworks (e.g. COBIT). Experience of influencing decision makers and senior management Strong investigative and analytical skills, able to quickly identify the core issues
