Solutions Architect
We have an opportunity for a Solution Architect to be responsible for creating and owning technical design and solution architecture for a range of IT projects and programmes. Conducted within Wates IT, these will be defined within the IT Portfolio, Operations programmes and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives.
With an emphasis on the integration and configuration of COTS and Cloud systems within a predominantly Microsoft environment, you will operate within the application and technology domains. You will design for, and provide guidance to, projects and implementations ensuring they adhere to the technical design procedure, uphold the current architecture principles and standards, and achieve the desired technical functionality standards.
Key Accountabilities will include:
Responsible for the ownership of solution architecture and technical designs within programmes of work Supporting design activities within Wates IT whilst ensuring their conformance with Wates Technical Design procedure Providing governance for design activities within Wates Utilising and maintaining architecture artefacts Monitoring of technology market and promoting development of future platforms Maintaining awareness of internal and external compliance requirements and there application to Wates Work closely with the Enterprise Architect and other architects to ensure Wates Enterprise Architecture practice maintains appropriate control over systems architecture. The role will provide support and guidance within IT, and to the wider business user population, in both "change" and "run" activities
To be successful in this role you will already have demonstrable knowledge in TOGAF (or comparable architecture modelling frameworks and Archimate (or comparable architecture modelling language). You will have comprehensive knowledge of solution architecture and technical design within an enterprise environment and excellent communication skills and strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
