Qualified as a First Call Operative, our Emergency Lead Engineers are our frontline response to gas escapes. Working on contracted and emergency jobs you'll be happy working alone and during unsociable hours whilst all the time being comfortable liaising directly with customers and the emergency services. You'll also carry out the scheduled installation, replacement and maintenance of gas meters for both domestic and commercial properties. Are you Gas Safe qualified? Have you got experience with installation and maintenance of gas equipment? With a constant focus on the safety of both life and property, you will reflect the integrity of Gas Distribution Operations within the communities we serve.
Who are you?
You will have good knowledge and experience of gas appliances; testing, purging and the commissioning of pipework. Ever representing the communities we serve, you will be comfortable engaging with the public to ensure that our customers are always looked after and kept safe. Safety is our number one priority, so you'll need a good understanding of Standards, Legislation, Codes of Practice, Unsafe Situations and other statutory requirements covering the gas industry. If you have a good understanding of health and safety coupled with the ability to solve technical issues - we want to hear from you! We are looking for real team players; people that want to make a difference to the success of our business. This is an environment that caters for our customers round-the-clock, so can you work on a standby rota? Ideally you will have previous experience within a gas environment though you may be coming from another area of the utilities industry - either way, get in touch and then come and join us on our journey. As the role is mobile, we will expect you to have a full UK driving licence. The following qualifications will be mandatory and it is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure they have the correct qualifications from the list below with the ability to demonstrate ownership of valid certificates. Domestic Qualifications
CCN1 - Core Domestic Gas Safety, including CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis) With a minimum of 3 from the following: ?? CENWAT - Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters ?? CKR1 - Cookers ?? HTR1 - Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters) ?? DAH1 - Ducted Air Heaters ?? LAU1 - Laundry Appliances We are also interested in any commercial qualifications you may have. The following would be mandatory: ?? COCN1 - Core Commercial Gas Safety It would also be advantageous if you have the following additional qualifications: ?? CMET1 - Install service and fault find Commercial Diaphragm and RPD Meters Low Pressure ?? TCP1 - strength/tightness testing and direct purging of commercial pipe work up to 16 bar pressure. ?? TCP1A - strength/tightness testing and direct purging of commercial pipe-work up to 1m??volume at up to 40mbar OP.
