Resource / Workforce Planning Manager

Overview

This role offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of Experian's Global Development Team. Liaising with stakeholders across the Global team, the objective is to ensure the Global Development function is using insight to help plan and prioritise the allocation of our workforce to drive continuous improvements in our demand forecasting, capacity planning, and staff planning/recruitment process.

This role is dedicated to generating reliable and impactful insight from our existing data sources for the PMO, Development, Quality, Support, and other teams across both Global Decisioning and Fraud product areas, helping to manage our existing and future resource base (both internal, external and third parties), simplifying the process for regular reporting on strategic and operational decisions. Furthermore, it is expected that this role will work closely with the Talent Acquisition teams to gather intelligence and indicate market trends that could potentially impact the company's ability to deliver resource in a timely manner.

Summary of Job Impact & Scope

Organisation size: There are no direct reports for this role, but it entails very close collaboration with the Global Development PMO and Operational Management responsible for the successful planning and delivery of Development, Support, and related activities, as well as partnering with external functional stakeholders including, DA Global Experian IT Services, Finance, HR and Talent Acquisition, and liaising with corresponding functions in adjacent Global Decision Analytics functions (principally Product Management, DA Delivery & Support)

Impact & Contribution: Generate effective evidence-based insight from multiple data sources and formats to create, own, and maintain a workforce planning model across the Global Development function, to optimise the utilisation of the internal and external resource base and anticipate the impact of future needs so that appropriate action can be taken.

Maintain a comprehensive model for hiring, attrition, and skills; plan and coordinate recruitment, internal moves and external resource suppliers; coordinate training requirements and demands through relevant stakeholders, in cooperation with the Global Development Leadership team.

Communication: Liaise and collaborate effectively with PMO, Finance, HR, EITS and other Global DA functions. Challenge stakeholders to ensure that business objectives, questions and requirements are translated into reliable insight, whilst working in a high-performance environment, meeting deadlines and ensuring that key stakeholders expectations are managed effectively

Innovation & Complexity: Continually review and seek to improve existing reporting processes, data, and KPI results including the integration of resource reporting into existing management systems.

Key Areas:

Sensitivity and Risk based Reporting

Provide sensitivity analysis over the resource demand profile reporting to management any identified risks and opportunities within both the short and the long term.

Operational MI reporting

Establish a core portfolio of effective and insight focused management reporting (MI) for operational management to support business decisionsIdentify and confirm any core 'input processes' that will require change or alignment on a global basisPrepare, analyse and present MI to senior stakeholders on budget vs. actual, headcount, resourcing and wider operational excellence metricsDevelop ad-hoc reporting as required

Stakeholder Management

Contribute to (and influence) the data quality and consistency agenda & plans for improvement across the broad stakeholder group - by demonstrating the value and impact of evidence based insight and reportingDevelop and maintain exceptional stakeholder management

Third Party Management

Where appropriate, work with third parties and/or partners to fulfil the tooling/automation as most appropriate, subject to operational constraints. Coordinate with third-party resource vendors.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

Degree level in a HR or management discipline or equivalent knowledge and experienceKnowledge & experience of resource management / workforce planning methodologies, skills and tools, and KPIs tracking and reportingAnalytically mindedKnowledge of Systems Development and Testing disciplinesEnergetic, proactive and effective communicator (both verbal and written)Self-starter with an innate continuous improvement mind-setAdvanced modelling capabilities in MS Excel and Access a pre-requisiteAdvanced presentational skills in Powerpoint is required, with knowledge and experience in using other data visualisation tools (e.g. Microstrategy) viewed as advantageousWillingness to engage and collaborate with diverse and disparate teams across the matrixed environment, with an awareness and appreciation of different culturesHigh levels of energy and enthusiasm for the on-going success of the team and the wider organisation
