Working as a Wellbeing Facilitator/Activities Coordinator for Abbeyfield you will take responsibility for planning, organising and delivering varied opportunities for activity and engagement that are supportive, motivating and add value to the lives of our residents, striving all the time to create opportunities to increase their wellbeing.

You will be required to develop and deliver a varied and stimulating range of social activities alongside volunteers designed to meet the needs of each of our residents. You will ensure that all programs continually meet the needs of each individual resident, reviewing and amending when necessary to changing needs. The role will require you to log evidence on the program of activities of each resident for monitoring purposes.

It is essential that you have experience of delivering quality activity and engagement provision and that you can demonstrate to us that you have a clear understanding of this for those living with dementia.

Duties will include spending time with residents to collate their interests and preferences and to develop life history books and other creative ways to aid recall, reminiscence and communication. Also to work closely with the team and resident`s families and friends to plan, organise and deliver stimulating activities.

You should have previous experience and knowledge of the needs of older people, including those living with dementia. You must be able to communicate and adapt your relationship across a broad range of stakeholder groups and work flexibly using your own initiative and also within a team. Demonstrating a creative approach to planning activities whilst emphasising and understanding the needs of older people are essential traits needed to be successful in this exciting role.
