We are looking for a passionate Human Resources practitioner to lead and support our site management team at our manufacturing site based in March, Cambridgeshire. As HR Manager you will be responsible for driving a high performance culture on site that emphasises empowerment, ownership and quality of service and standards to our teams and ultimately our customers. You will provide a comprehensive generalist HR support on site ensuring legal compliance at all times.

What we are looking for in the HR Manager role 

Reporting to the Head of HR, we are looking for someone who is self-motivated, able to work effectively both on their own initiative and as part of a wider team, who has the resilience to support the site and continually strives to achieve exceptional results. Experience of working in an FMCG or Food manufacturing environment is desirable.  

To be successful in this role you must:-

- Take responsibility for all statutory and legal HR-related activity for the site

- Support in the delivery of site people plans which link to the wider Group HR strategy & take the lead on site for implementation

- Pro-actively identify talent & develop succession plans in partnership with the General Manager/MD

- Drive and facilitate a culture of innovation and continuous improvement on site

- Provide appropriate professional support to the site management team to include comprehensive HR advice/ guidance and Coaching and upskilling on key HR subjects/policies/procedures

- Have gained experience in providing people management solutions at an operational level

Qualifications, skills and experience required by the HR Manager

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR Advisory or HR management role

- CIPD Level 5 qualified possibly working towards CIPD Level 7

- IOSH Managing safely (desirable)

- Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels, quickly gaining credibility with a range of internal and external contacts

- Ability to delegate and prioritise effectively in line with business requirements

- Ability to adapt to continual changes

- Demonstrable experience in leading and managing a small HR team

- Knowledge of HR standards, benchmarking and performance indicators

- In-depth knowledge in HR related practices and employment law

- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to plan effectively and work to deadlines.

- Clear, fluent communication style (oral and written)

- Flexibility and willingness to get involved in all aspects of HR work

- Able to identify opportunities for improvement and provide solutions

- Commercially focused
