Software Developer Apprentice

We are looking for 20 Software Developer Apprentices to train and join successful businesses in and around Manchester. The Apprenticeship training will be provided by The Skills Company in partnership with Manchester Digital.

The roles

High quality training is delivered by senior industry experts in a work environment, meaning you really get to focus and develop core skills. The speed at which you learn means you will be a fully fledged junior developer in 18 months.

You will learn lots of practical skills and your employer will be supporting you with training and advice whilst you work.

Application process

* If you are lucky enough to be shortlisted we will invite you to spend the day with The Skills Company and Manchester Digital showing off your skills and interest in IT. You will have a chance to practice coding, demonstrate your ability to work in a team and have a mini interview with one or more of our employers.

* Employers will then make offers to their preferred candidates.

* Once you have a job offer you will join the Manchester Digital team and the rest of your cohort for an intensive few weeks of coding practice.

* You will then join your employer on a full-time basis, breaking every couple of months to attend training boot camp sand industry conferences.

Training

Apprenticeship training will be provided by The Skills Company and Manchester Digital. You will also receive regular on the job training and support from your line manager.

Apprenticeship training will include:

* A level 4 Software Developer Apprenticeship
* Functional skills in maths and English if required
* Employment Rights and Responsibilities

Apprenticeship training duration is approximately 18 months after which you will be a fully-fledged Software Developer.

Qualifications required

Although full training will be given you should be educated to GCSE Level C or above in Maths and English. You must have a qualification or keen interest in IT and coding.

Hours:Monday - Friday.

Holiday: Minimum 20 days + 8 days bank holiday

Salary:Circa £14,000 per annum to start whilst you complete your apprenticeship. Salaries for Software Engineers range between: Junior level: £15k - £35k, Mid level: £25k - £55k, Senior level: £40k - £90k

Type: Full Time Apprenticeship opportunities are available with a minimum duration of 18 months with full time employment after this duration on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
