Senior Designer - Mens Knitwear

Our client has an excellent reputation as a major international employer. They are part of a global group and a world leader in the design, development and sourcing of consumer goods with a vast product range that includes ladies, mens and childrens fashion apparel, homewares and retail solutions, they now have an opening for a Senior Designer - Mens Knitwear.

Designer responsibilities will include: -

?? Reporting to the Design manager you will be accountable for creating trend led ranges within the team based on the Clients specifications.

?? Commercially aware of current trends and themes, developing the brands and working with production to ensure all products are designed and manufactured in line with the brands direction and critical path within sometimes tight deadlines.

?? Working as part of the design team to provide an effective and efficient service to various areas of the business.

?? Daily contact with third parties including the Far East.

?? Supporting the Business in adding value to its Clients, understanding and researching new product development opportunities.

?? Share knowledge of manufacturing process and techniques.

This is a fast paced, customer facing Senior Design role, requiring substantial experience in mens knitwear design from a fashion retailer or design led supplier to the UK High Street; you should have a strong technical knowledge of yarns, machinery and manufacturing techniques; be target driven with a passion for fashion and excellent presentation and CAD skills. A flexible approach to working hours including overtime and travel is essential.
