Teacher of English- Harrogate

Principal Teachers are seeking to recruit a qualified Teacher of English on behalf of a secondary school in the Harrogate area. The Head Teacher has approached PT to assist in the school's search for a Teacher of English to commence a long term role from September. The position is available on a full time basis, delivering the KS3 and KS4 English Literature and English Language curricular. The Head Teacher is seeking a committed individual, who can motivate students to achieve in English and provide a diverse and stimulating curriculum. Experience of teaching Drama at KS3 level would also be beneficial.

This Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary School is based in a vibrant area of Harrogate. The successful applicant will become part of a successful English Department and gain access to a wealth of resources. Staff within the Department are very experienced and enjoy working collaboratively to share best practice. You will need to demonstrate your ability to plan and assess meticulously to be able to equally support and challenge students to enable them to reach their full potential.

The successful applicant will have:

-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
-Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
-Previous experience of teaching in the UK
-Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for English
-Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
-The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
-Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
-A commitment to improving attainment for all students
-A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
