We are looking for a motivated person to join our professional team as an Activity Co-ordinator / Team Leader at our residential home in Malvern. This opportunity is to work 37.5 hours per week (full time) on a permanent basis.

A key part of the role will be supporting individuals to develop valuable, relevant life skills and experience a wide range of educational, recreational and leisure pursuits. You will support deafblind people to participate in a number of different activities and to access facilities in the local community. You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks.

Sense is a national charity that supports people who are deafblind, those with sensory impairments and those with complex needs, to enjoy more independent lives.

About the role

You will lead activity sessions based in both the home and the wider local community. You will contribute to the planning, development and implementation of sessions as well as maintaining the area as a safe and functional learning and living environment.

In line with our commitment to support people in the most flexible and person centred way we can, you will be asked to work flexible hours across a 7 day rota.

Skills and abilities

Experience of implementing activities with an emphasis on learning outcomes is essential as is a progressive outlook to disability issues. An artistic, creative or sporting background is desirable.

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and also be an excellent communicator, and team working skills, literacy, an awareness of disability needs and flexibility.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for this role.
