Housingrecruit.com is advertising for an Income Officer (Homeownership) on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider based in Leicester.

The Income Team had a successful 2016/17, collecting almost 100% of rent due and reducing rent arrears by over £500,000. They are now looking forward to the challenges of moving on to the next level by delivering new processes and procedures which will maintain this performance improvement in the face of the introduction of Universal Credit which provides a significant risk to our collection rates.  They would really like to hear from you if;

You are an enthusiastic and motivated individual with first class communication skills, customer focus and understanding of income collection and court procedures;

You can demonstrate experience of rent and service charge collection for Home Ownership, Market and Intermediate rental properties in an environment that are commercial and customer focused;

You can help tenants to remove all barriers to make sure that rent comes first;

You have the skills to monitor and prioritise timely responses regarding rent accounts, giving advice on budgeting skills, access to welfare benefits and negotiating agreements to support income collection for a group of properties in the Midlands;

This is a challenging role, which requires first class communication skills. You will work in the Income Team helping us to provide an efficient and effective customer-focused income management service. You will be responsible for service charge and rent arrears collection for our Home Ownership, Market and Intermediate Rental properties. You will be required to give advice on debt management. You will give the best possible advice in relation to welfare benefits and assistance in managing rent and service charge difficulties. You will take enforcement action for arrears where necessary.  You will be committed to providing a high-quality service for the organisation and have an understanding and experience of the legal process relating to both rent and service charge arrears.

Outcome driven and customer focused, you will be enthusiastic and energetic with excellent communication skills.  You will have experience of working in a front line customer focused environment. In addition, you will have a can-do attitude and be an excellent problem solver, whilst offering a balance between enforcement and support in all areas of rent management.

The Group recognises that people are at the heart of the business and that success is dependent on enthusiastic and committed colleagues, making sure they feel supported and encouraging a culture of opportunity and learning to enable colleagues to fulfil their potential and make a real difference to people’s lives every day.

In return for your commitment, you can expect a competitive salary, generous holiday entitlement, pension scheme and employee discount scheme.  As a responsible employer, the organisation takes the health and wellbeing of their colleagues seriously, and are currently implementing a comprehensive health and wellbeing programme.

These are exciting times for the organisation which is at the beginning of a new era and this is an excellent opportunity to join us on our journey.
