This SEN Teaching Assistant role is available for an immediate start for an ambitious graduate with a passion for and experience in working with Special Educational Needs (SEN), especially Autism.

This amazing 'Outstanding' Primary School is looking for a passionate Psychology graduate to add to their friendly SEN team as an SEN Teaching Assistant and wants to meet you right away.

Teaching Assistant (SEN) - The Person

If you are a graduate with a degree in Psychology and volunteer or other experience working with SEN this role could be perfect for you!

Previous school based experience is not necessary, you may have acquired skills working with autism and other SEN in different settings (e.g. adults, NHS, vulnerable people) which will transfer into a school environment. Strong communication, self-motivation and resilience is key to this role!

Teaching Assistant (SEN) - The Role

You will be working in a Year 4 classroom, supporting a little boy who is on the Autistic Spectrum with 1:1 interventions, working alongside a supportive class teacher and an inspirational SENCO to deliver his learning plans. His behaviour is good but he easily becomes distracted and needs help with his social skills to help him enjoy school as much as his classmates.

Best of all you can build your experience working school hours, Monday-Friday, leaving you time to keep other part-time commitments if you desire. The role is for the rest of the academic year, giving you a real sense of job security and purpose.
