With outstanding customer service and extensive technical knowledge, our client has become one of the nation’s leading steel and aluminium stockholders. They are now looking for an Operations Director to join their team in Aldridge. 

You will have the chance to influence and shape the future of the business and make a positive, lasting impact on a function that is vital to our client’s ongoing success. 

As the Operations Director, you will oversee our client’s production process and facilitate the smooth running of the business. 

Managing two Team Leaders, you will inspire them to nurture and develop their teams and ensure that all staff perform to the best of their ability. 

You will perform risk assessments and ensure that all activities are carried out in-line with H&S procedures. 

Additionally, you will oversee a range of change and improvement projects to enhance existing operations. 

As part of your role, you may occasionally be required to travel to visit our client's other sites. 

To be considered, you will need a full driving licence. Experience of the following is also essential: 

- Managing a production process, such as metal fabrication, metal processing or low volume manufacturing 
- Managing teams, including recruitment, performance management and discipline 
- Implementing working procedures that meet ISO 9001 requirements 
- Managing safety, conducting risk assessments and drafting safe operating procedures 
- Overseeing change or improvement projects and acquiring capital equipment 

The ideal Operations Director will have a safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH certificate or diploma. Some knowledge of welding would also be an advantage.
