Import / Export Clerk

Our client is an expanding company based in Aberdeen, that currently require a Logistics Coordinator / Administrator to join their team in Aberdeen.

Duties & Responsibilities:
?? Booking transport for Local UK/Worldwide shipments
?? Arranging imports/exports, while creating invoices and other shipping documentation/instructions as required
?? Obtaining transportation quotations for sales team and other departments as and when required
?? Assisting with delivery queries
?? Form effective professional relationships with customers, carriers, other agents and colleagues
?? Recognise and develop sales opportunities where necessary
?? Negotiate rates, LCL/FCL/Air freight/RoRo/Road freight, with shipping lines/suppliers, providing customers with quotations
?? Work within set guidelines, maximising profits achieved, whilst maintaining the integrity of customer relationship
?? Following up on quotes issued and renegotiating if necessary
?? Accurately enter all details onto the computer systems, updating when necessary
?? Liaising with all concerned parties to ensure accuracy of information and those deadlines are met
?? Exercise proper file management to ensure easily retrievable files/documents

Candidate Requirements:
?? Solid analytical skills required with a solution based approach to work
?? Knowledge of using PC applications to include Microsoft Office, Excel and Datafreight
?? Good general computer literacy such as good typing & keyboard skills
?? Committed to learn quickly and apply the necessary time to get the job done
?? Attention to detail skills required
?? Proactive approach to tasks, not reactive (enable efficiencies and improvements)
?? Interpersonal skills essential with a polite and helpful manner
?? Enjoy working with people and being part of a team
?? Has plenty of stamina to follow up information and go the extra mile
?? At least three years experience in logistics

Salary for this role is dependent on experience.
