The Hydraulics Engineer Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Hydraulics Engineer to join the busy Engineering team.
Reporting to Principal hydraulics engineer, you will be required to manage and process engineering work, which includes hydraulics and general mechanical calculation, pump testing supervision.
Engineering work must be completed within contract timescales and with the highest level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities as our Hydraulics Engineer:
- Engineering-hydraulics projects (using VE/VA techniques) to design new products or optimize existing designs by using CFD
- Support for sales and shop floor when necessary including customer complaints, root cause analysis etc.
- Appreciation of legislative requirements (Machinery Directive, PED, ATEX)
- Site work including measuring existing installations for new equipment
- Support for Brownfield Optimisation team
- Customer visit for complex hydraulics project
- Ensure that the company’s strict IP policies are adhered to at all times
Our ideal Hydraulics Engineer:
- A methodical approach to work with a high attention to detail to ensure the highest accuracy of their work.
- Must work well in a team and be able to communicate well with staff at all levels in the Business
- You must have a high level of personal integrity to protect the Companies Intellectual Property
- You must have a sound mechanical engineering background with several years experience in a relevant mechanical design environment; preference will be given to candidates with experience of any of the following
- Medium/heavy duty rotating equipment (e.g. Pumps & Gearboxes)
- Mineral Processing Equipment (e.g. Cyclone Clusters, etc.)
- General experience in fabrication design and detailing including walkways, towers, chutes for processing industries, tanks/hoppers
- Site assessment; measuring existing plant on site in order to fit new equipment in place
- Major 3D CAD system, ideally Siemens NX
- CFD
- Teamcenter PLM
- HNC or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related subject
- Incorporated Engineer (I.Eng) or Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) or working towards
