Within this programme we support young people with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and mental health needs to develop their skills towards and gain paid employment. We are ideally looking to appoint someone with experience supporting people with complex disabilities into work, have a keen interest in making a difference and engaging with people, and someone who is patient, empathetic and a good communicator. If this sounds like you we would like to hear from you.</p><p>We offer both formal and on the job training, and our national specialists are on hand to provide expert advice and support in best practice, inclusion, quality and health and safety, providing exceptional support and making a difference to people’s lives. You will be fully inducted working alongside experienced colleagues.</p><p>United Response is a well established, national charity with an excellent track record in supporting young people and adults who have learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism and physical disabilities to live the life they want. We employ around 3,500 staff throughout England and South Wales who share our person-centred values, which means that support is tailored to the need and wishes of each individual.</p><p>As the role will include working across Greater Manchester a car driver is essential.</p><p>Hours of work – 30 hours a week</p><p>The rate of pay will be £17,000 - £19,000 (FTE) per annum, pro rata (salary will depend on level of experience)</p><p>Essential car user allowance included </p><p>Closing date for applications Thursday 20th July at 12 midnight.</p><p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Job Requirements</span></strong></p><p><strong>As a job coach you will be required to;</strong></p><p>Support people with learning disabilities and autism into paid employment, ensure people we support are adequately skilled and informed to carry out their roles.</p><p>Be flexible and creative in supporting individuals to access open employment, identify and overcome barriers to employment that the people we support face. </p><p>Ensure productive relations with all parties including employers, colleagues, parents and carers, and professionals; support social enterprises to market their products.</p><p>Monitor performance of individuals to ensure progression; build appropriate and empowering relations with individuals; ensure an inclusive approach to all aspects of the role. You will also be required to take a lead on overseeing and achieving the outcomes set for the programme and gaining new referrals. </p><p><strong>As a Job Coach you will need to have;</strong></p><p>Excellent communication skills; good computer literacy as you will be working on online systems for monitoring the project; good self-management skills and a flexible approach. You will also have the ability to market individuals or services; have a good understanding of the supported employment process and good knowledge of local businesses/companies.
