This leading independent language school and training organisation is looking to recruit a CIPD qualified/ part qualified Human Resources / Recruitment Coordinator, to support a busy and rewarding HR service based in London.

They would also consider applications from non CIPD qualified candidates, with relevant experience/background.

They are looking for a highly organised and motivated person to join a small HR team, providing administrative support across recruitment and a range of HR services including employee resourcing, training and development, employee relations and reward. You must have experience of managing high volume recruitment; and ideally an understanding of safer recruitment practices in relation to the safeguarding of children and young people. Previous experience and an understanding of a unionised environment would be highly desirable.

Main responsibilities

- To assist with the recruitment of administrative and teaching staff (advertising; selection; interviewing) for the organisation
- To collect documentation for and maintain personnel files of all staff in order to meet standards set by quality assurance associations (e.g. the British Council, EAQUALS, UK Borders Agency, FAST)
- To issue contracts to temporary and permanent staff
- To manage DBS checks for all staff
- To manage in-house Safeguarding Training for all staff
- To run Safeguarding Training sessions as part of the induction
- To arrange inductions for administrative staff and contribute to those of educational staff
- To be the point of contact in relation to DSE issues and to provide basic training to staff
- To assist in the administration of Professional Development (allocation; collation of training needs; organising training)
- To liaise with the HR Manager and the Finance Department regarding payroll adjustments
- To advise staff on policies and procedures regarding absence, sickness, holiday entitlement, grievance etc.
- To administer the setting up and maintenance of pensions (applying for packs, arranging meetings, joining new members)
- To gather and analyse statistics where necessary
- To be a point of contact and maintain the operations of the department during Head of HR's leave
- To keep the HR database accurate and up to date
- To assist with the recruitment of administrative and teaching staff (advertising; selection; interviewing) for the organisation
- Undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined, subject to the proviso that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated into the job description in specific terms
