Our client is a leading manufacturer of connectivity and networking solutions. They are now looking for a Global Product Manager to join their team.

The Role: 

As a Global Product Manager, you will take responsibility for the full lifecycle of a group of products and the planning for a number of products or groups of products within our client’s product portfolio. This will include the financial performance, revenue and P&L, the marketing efforts, such as marketing communications, sales, application engineering and customer services, and the business development activities that will expand the sales of the group of products that you will manage. 

Specifically, your role will also involve: 

- Planning and marketing an entire group of products through all stages of their lifecycle 
- Taking charge of product roadmaps and marketing plans, initiating product development plans and leading the introduction of new products 
- Co-ordinating product-related processes with all other functions throughout the organisation to ensure the successful delivery of products to market 
- Gathering market requirements and defining new products and new markets in order to meet short, mid and long-term goals 
- Meeting revenue targets for each product on an annual basis 
- Taking responsibility for the profit and loss of all products within your group and reporting on P&L performance of the entire portfolio 
- Completing business development activity 
- Managing supplier relationships and activities in order to oversee quality, drive cost reduction and grow margin 
- Reporting on all activity on a regular basis, updating your line manager and achieving sign-off on activity prior to action being taken 

About You: 

To be considered, you must have: 

- At least three years’ experience working as a product or project manager 
- Advanced Mandarin and English language skills, including writing, reading and speaking 
- Experience gained within the in fibre optic industry with an understanding and experience of passive and active fibre optics components and products 
- Experience and knowledge of regional European variations in market requirements and commercial realities 
- Knowledge of optical fibre applications in premise and/or enterprise, data centre, or telecom market segments 
- The ability to read, interpret and create CAD drawings 
- A strong level of IT literacy including Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook 
- A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Engineering, ideally an MBA 
- An excellent work ethic and plenty of business acumen 
- Excellent communication skills 
- The ability to work well in a high-pressure environment
