Department Profile:
The Finance Division reports to the Chief Financial Officer and consists of some 2,600 employees worldwide. Finance protects the Morgan Stanley franchise by serving as guardian of the Firm's books and records, and by contributing to Firmwide risk management and risk reduction. This division maintains relationships with Morgan Stanley's various industry and government regulators, and also serves as the conduit of financial information to the outside investment community. Finance plays a critical role as advisor to Morgan Stanley's various businesses and its senior management team.

Team Profile:
The Legal Entity Control Group (LECG) is responsible for the financial management and control of the Firm's legal entities. We are a well-established team in Glasgow that currently manages over 600 London and New York based entities. LECG is involved at the inception of each entity, responsible for financial control whist live and oversees ultimate legal closure. Whilst entities are active, this team is responsible for preparing audited and unaudited statutory financial statements; management accounts; US Federal Reserve entity level reporting; and other reporting for senior management. We are also responsible for ensuring that standard monthly and quarterly financial reporting controls and validations operate correctly.

Primary Responsibilities:
This role represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a global function with responsibility for a UK regulated Bank. The successful candidate will gain exposure to detailed financial and regulatory reporting requirements the Bank is subject to as well as engagement with and support to a wide range of stakeholders in the firm. Responsibilities include:

- Preparation of monthly management packs for Finance senior management, including detailed variance analysis and commentary on business drivers.
- Financial analysis and support for regulatory reporting, including involvement in reporting to the Bank of England and support to the monthly PRA reporting process.
- Preparation of the annual financial statements including liaison with auditors.
- Preparation of other compliance reporting including submissions to the US Federal Reserve.
- Maintain effective relationships with other internal groups across both the finance organisation (including Product Controllers and Compensation Controllers) and across the wider firm (including Tax, Company Secretarial, Bank Resource Management and Treasury).
- Identify, escalate and co-ordinate resolution of issues.
- Enhance processes and controls and actively seek improvements.
- Supporting Legal Entity initiatives within the firm and involvement in projects impacting the legal entities supporting the UK group.

Qualifications
Skills required (essential):
- The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a rounded commercial approach to reporting and legal entity control, with proven skills in maintaining a strong control environment
- Problem solving ability with proven skills in chasing issues through many layers to discover root causes.
- Confident in managing relationships across a wide variety of stakeholders and business areas.
- Ability to manage work load effectively balancing multiple issues and priorities appropriately.
- Strong analytical, organisational and documentation skills.
- Professional accountancy qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and proficient in data mining and summarising and presenting themes and results in a meaningful format.
- Highly numerate with a close attention to detail.
- Have the flexibility required to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines.
