Temporary Laboratory Technician

They have a vacancy for a Temporary Laboratory Technician to work in the permeation sub-team in their Chemical and Analytical Technology Department.

The successful applicant will be expected to carry out routine testing to standard procedures within an accredited laboratory environment. The successful applicant will also be expected to calculate and record results and observations in an understandable manner. Full training will be provided, although previous laboratory experience is desirable.

Candidates must have GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and at least one science subject at Grade C or above and be familiar with MS Word and Excel. The successful candidate will be expected to work to deadlines, to produce accurate, detailed results and also be able to work independently and as part of the laboratory team.

Flexibility, tenacity and a 'can-do attitude' are key requisites of the role. Candidates should be able and willing to work their contracted hours between the hours of 7am and 7pm if required. The working hours for the position will predominantly be Monday to Friday from 11 am until 7 pm, however flexibility to cover the early shift of 7 am until 3 pm may be required on occasion. A shift allowance will be paid in addition to the salary where one of these shifts is worked.
