This post is part of the Legal, Democratic Services and Procurement Team and the postholder will liaise with Client Departments to establish their procurement needs and offer advice to ensure that the procurement process is carried out in accordance with legal requirements, company Constitution and standard procurement procedures.
Duties will include the management, preparation, and issue of, appropriate tender documentation, coordination of responses to tender enquiries via the online portal and the evaluation of tender documents and any other associated duties.
This post is a training grade and entry to each level is dependent on qualifications and experience. However it is essential to have or be working towards a CIPS Qualification and have 2 years' experience in procurement/internal support service environment.
You must have the ability to effectively use all aspects of Microsoft Office, communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing, meet deadlines and prioritise own workloads, demonstrate good numeracy and negotiating skills, ensure attention to detail is given priority to ensure accuracy and ensure confidentiality is adhered to in respect of sensitive data.
The postholder must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of operating e-tendering and financial systems, effective management of a supply chain and an understanding of the impacts of sustainability in the procurement process.
