The role
The jobholder will be responsible for managing the design and definition of production processes on site as well as continuous improvement of the current processes at mass production stage.
Working closely with the project management and manufacturing teams the process engineer is responsible for monitoring the engineering schedules, allocated budgets and consistency of the design process in line with customer specifications, manufacturing demands and constraints.
The process engineer will hold the responsibility for building up and maintaining all the technical documentation relating to the processes he / she is responsible for as well as validation of the technical choices and changes made as well as chosen suppliers. The jobholder will be expected to participate in the selection of and relationship building with a variety of suppliers.
Successful candidate will be expected to be able to work across multidisciplinary teams and at all levels within the company. He / she will also be expected to mentor or coach process technicians and other less experienced members of the team.
The candidate
This opportunity will be best suited for a candidate with a recognised engineering qualification or equivalent on-the-job experience in manufacturing or industrial development.
To succeed in this position candidates must be autonomous, have professional attitude, respect confidentiality and be proactive in all internal and external communications.
We are looking for ability to work with in a multidisciplinary team, show initiative and decision making abilities, analytical thinking and problem solving abilities.
Proven track record of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques, and FMEA is essential to be successful in this position. Experience of working in the automotive sector is essential. Any experience of plastics manufacturing will be an advantage.
