Summary of duties and job description:
Manage a team of accountants who prepare the year-end accounts for small companies and individuals. These accounts are then submitted to HMRC and Companies House to comply with the statutory obligations. Managing a team of 8-12 accountants, he or she will be responsible for running the team as well as putting systems and procedures in place to drive efficiencies. Duties will also include resource planning to meet deadlines, hiring of new staff, dealing with problems that are escalated by staff and liaising with other teams in the business. This is a demanding role that requires detailed and current knowledge of current tax laws and changes. A proportion of our clients are expatriates so the successful candidate must be willing to research tax issues in other jurisdictions to identify potential tax advantages to individual clients.
The successful candidate should have a good understanding of UK tax law incl. IR35.
The successful candidate will need to be able to prepare and review statutory accounts and understand UK accounting policy.
The successful client should be able to engage with both clients and with internal staff.
Skills/Qualifications required
Chartered Accountant or qualified accountant
Extensive Experience in managing a team
4-7 years post qualified experience required.
Salary: 55,000 – 65,000
