Veterinary Care Assistant - Full Time

Our busy, small animal surgery in Charlton is looking for an enthusiastic & passionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Care Assistant to assist with providing the best possible care for our clients.  The surgery is situated in the busy Peninsular Park shopping centre within the Pets At Home store.


As a local practice, our clients come to us from the surrounding area due to the friendly, professional and quality service provided. Our surgery is committed to delivering affordable but high quality care to clients and patients and is purpose built to leading industry standards with state of the art equipment including digital X-ray machine, in house lab, ultrasound and separate operating theatre. We also provide a hospital ward to give our patients the security and comfort they need whilst in our care.


You will be joining a hardworking and passionate team of vets, nurses a reception team with a strong ethic for the well being of patients. We offer a supportive environment with personal training and development opportunities and we offer lots of hands on experience!

Person Specification

Previous animal handling experience and/or relevant qualifications would be an advantage.  The successful candidate will be a strong team player; one with a proactive approach who can work well under pressure, and uses their initiative.  You will also have occasional responsibility for covering reception so good communication, computer and organisation skills are also required for this customer facing responsibility where you will need to answer client queries, book appointments and coordinate patient arrival and discharge.


The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week and will include mainly Monday – Friday rotas, plus every Saturday. Days off will be every Sunday and one week day each week.
