A new, exciting and varied position we are currently seeking a diverse individual with excellent Estimating experience.

You will be responsible for managing new bids, from writing Bills of Quantities and sending out sub-contractor packages to putting all the cost and information documents together for submission. You will be building budgets for projects between GBP4-GBP7million. Also responsible for managing client variations, monthly valuations, final accounts and dispute resolution, as well as assisting Project Managers with sub-contractor JCT contract documentation.

Duties Include:

• To provide properly considered cost estimates for review and then submission; undertaking tenders from GBP3m up to GBP7m.
• Co-ordinate with other technical service departments.
• Give direction to administrative and clerical staff.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, quantity surveyors, and other third parties.
• Organise appropriate tender enquiries.
• Administer correspondence and tender documents.
• Supervision of tender submission.
• Collect and distribute of feedback.
• Hand over tender files to project team.
• Oversee data entry onto estimating software.
• Organise start up, mid bid, and review meetings.
• Prepare tender summary and costed risk registers.
• Maintain awareness of latest techniques.
• Preparing Sub-Contractor JCT Contracts
• Manage sub-contractor warranty process
• Project management of the bid process.
• Leading the creation of high quality bid and tender documents, including writing and editing content (text and graphics) and document production.
• Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.

What we're looking for:

• HNC or degree.
• Membership of a professional institution.
• Previously worked within Estimating background
• Ability to write measured works Bills of Quantities
• Effective communication and negotiation skills with the ability to liaise at various levels, building strong, sustainable relationships at all times
• Proven experience of winning new build projects between GBP3-GBP7million
• Money orientated with a analytical and creative approach
• Commercially minded
• Strong procurement experience
• Excellent People Management skills with a flexible and proactive approach
• Technically minded with excellent attention to detail
• Excellent creation of high quality PQQ and bid documents, CVC reports, including writing and editing content (text and graphics) and document production.
• Manage and minimise non recoverable costs
• Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office is Essential
• Ability to learn Computer Software
• Someone who has previously worked for a SME
