Production Supervisor

Reports to: Production Manager

The Company

My client has an exciting new opportunity within a long established manufacturing organisation, using a variety of Machining and Fabrication processes to manufacture their products from our modern purpose built facility located in Nottinghamshire.

They supply components into the civil and military Aerospace and Defence industry sectors, and have a vision to develop these and wider markets making the working environment fascinating and challenging.

A requirement has now arisen for an experienced Production Supervisor to join the business

Duties and responsibilities

The primary job duties and responsibilities are, but not limited to:

• ·         Provide leadership to their team
• ·         Create and develop Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions
• ·         Train operators
• ·         Motivate the team
• ·         Responsible for quality of their team
• ·         Responsible for problem solving
• ·         Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to
• ·         Ensure the correct work ethic is always being applied
• ·         Assigning tasks to team members
• ·         Giving them specific directions and procedures to follow
• ·         Monitor work progress of the team and individuals
• ·         Measure performance
• ·         Complete NCR investigations and manage NCR database
• ·         Be skilled at their workplace tasks
• ·         Able to mentor their sub-ordinates
• ·         Develop continuous improvement projects using lean toolbox techniques
• ·         Responsible for ensuring TPM & 5S schedules are adhered to
• ·         Responsible for ensuring OEE measures are being conducted and improvement action plans are implemented
• ·         Work with Production Manager to coordinate work scheduling in their area
• ·         Work with Production Manager to coordinate Capacity Planning

Qualifications

The minimum expected qualifications required to successfully perform the job are:

• ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering
• Good skills and experience operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC Machines
• Good knowledge of datum structures, key characteristics and G,D&T
• Experienced use of standard measuring systems and methodologies
• Must have a ‘Can-Do’ attitude
• Experienced use of problem solving techniques
• Good IT skills
