Principal Teachers are currently working in partnership with a secondary school in the Richmond area. The school has a vacancy for a dedicated Teacher of English to commence a full time position from September until at least December 2017. The Head Teacher is seeking a creative and enthusiastic practitioner to deliver an exciting curriculum to students in KS3 and 4. You will need to be able to deliver English Language and English Literature to students in Years 9, 10 and 11. Experience of teaching Drama at KS3 level would be desirable.

Based in a rural area of Richmond, the school is well reputed within the local community and staff are very highly regarded. The school is well resourced and you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with your colleagues to share best practice. You will become part of a thriving and experienced English Department, where results are improving year on year. You will need to demonstrate your ability to engage all learners within a diverse classroom and support students to achieve their full potential by offering personalised and differentiated lessons that support and challenge all. The successful applicant will have:

-Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
-Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
-Previous experience of teaching in the UK
-Knowledge of the current Secondary National Curriculum requirements for English
-Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
-The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
-Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
-A commitment to improving attainment for all students
-A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
