Our client is currently seeking a Head of Corporate Communications and Administration. This role combines the management of Corporate Communications (including Media Services and the intranet/website) and Administration (Headquarters and Highfields Community Fire Station) teams, with the hands-on development, implementation and delivery of internal and external communications strategies and functions.

Head of Corporate Communications and Administration Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work closely with NFRS senior managers to establish fully co-ordinated, pro-active external and internal communications strategies which are accessible, transparent, support NFRS objectives and promote its achievements. You will also be expected to oversee the development and provision of corporate administrative functions to support managers and teams in delivering department and Service objectives.

Person Specification
Qualifications
A degree level qualification
Full, clean driving licence

Experience required in:
• Managing people, projects, functions and resources, planning and directing strategy; track record of success in achieving strategic objectives.
• Forming and building teams, including admin/communications functions and building and managing administrative, PR/communications Teams.
• Liaising with the media on behalf of senior leaders in organisations and acting in an advisory capacity to senior leaders on communications issues

Skills / Attributes
• Self-starter able to develop communications strategies, lead and manage teams to deliver results, methodical and accurate with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills – ability to communicate and interact with people to convey complex information at all levels. Tactful and diplomatic.
• Ability to quality-assure communications of various media to maintain the reputation of the organisation and to deal with emerging issues to support strategic direction.
• Able to respond to situations beyond normal working hours when required and work under pressure without supervision; self-motivated.
