Housingrecruit.com is advertising for a part-time Welfare Benefits Advisor on behalf of our client, a leading social housing provider based in Walton-on-Thames.

About the role

Are you passionate about Welfare Benefits and making a difference to people’s lives? If so, our client is looking for a talented and committed individual to join the team as a Welfare Benefits Advisor.

In this role, you will support eligible customers to maximise their income by reviewing their welfare benefit entitlements and assist with the application and appeal process.

You will also offer advice and support to customers affected by the Welfare Reforms, signposting them to the relevant agencies and financial inclusion services.

You will provide a welfare benefits advice service to our customers by facilitating access to debt management and financial inclusion services.

This role is part-time (21 hours per week) and these hours can be taken over 3, 4 or 5 days during the week.

Required skills and experience for this role include:

You will have excellent Customer Service skills, a strong customer service ethos with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A self-motivated attitude and a willingness to take the initiative and be flexible in your approach to your workload will complement your high personal standards of work.

You should have a good working knowledge of Welfare Benefit and welfare reforms, possess excellent literacy and numeracy skills, and be adept with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher).

Applicants must have a full driving licence and daily access to a car for work use. There will be a car allowance paid on a pro-rata basis.
